Goalbit Media Player

Goalbit Media Player is the software for final users to connect to and play Goalbit video streams. It can be downloaded from the source-forge page. Its main features are:

    Goalbit Broadcaster Kit

    When in broadcaster mode, Goalbit offers many possible configurations, as listed above:

  • Live Encoding and transcoding to multiple formats and protocols. Goalbit source code is based on VLC player's, and as a consequence it can use its available codecs to encode and transcode a video stream. For a more detailed list please visit the Video-Lan streaming features page.

  • Live video injector from multiple input media.

  • Free and Open-source software.

  • Multi platform (Linux, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS).

  • Multiple connections. As described in the Goalbit architecture article, a broadcaster can establish multiple connections with several super peers, connections may be madethrough multiple network links, balancing its output through them and adding robustness if any link fails.

  • Broadcast a playlist of stored video files.

  • Audio and Video edition on the fly: Digital Audio Equalization on the fly. Add video effects on the fly: deinterlace, cropping, image adjust, rotate/mirror, logo overlay, zoom/magnification, image distortion, RSS/Atom feeds.

  • Funny expressive options: annotations and image insertion into the live streaming. Generate Revenue with on-the-fly Video Ads: overlay and in-stream video ad.

  • Run from command line. The Goalbit broadcaster can be invoked through command line and its configuration as parameters, providing ease of use when installing and running it in a remote server.

  • GoalBit Broadcaster can be automatically managed by GoalBit Controller.

    Goalbit Monitor

    The main Goalbit Media Monitor function is to display through a web page a summary of the streaming status of every channel being monitored. For every channel its audio and video channel its monitored, for every stream of it. Furthermore, third party applications may log the Quality of Experience collected.

    To manage monitored channels a list of them is shown, giving the possibility of easily removing or adding a channel with a .goalbit file or link. 

    Failure notifications are automatic, via Email, SMS web services, and such. Frequencies of alerts can be established, along with monitoring priorities.

     

     

       

    Goalbit Video Platform

    The Goalbit Video Platform is formed by other software components than the Goalbit Media Player (and broadcaster) that provide more capabilities to a Goalbit network.

    * Goalbit Media Portal. Provides a web access to all media content (live streams, stored videos, programming guides, social sharing) for final users. Searching, sorting and browsing facilities.

    * Goalbit control panel. Provides managment over the availability of the media content. 

    * Goalbit Access. Provides authentication, authorization, geo localization and Digital Rights Managment for the media content involved.

    * Goalbit controller. Provides support to video broadcastings, assigning automatically pumper peers from a pumper farm with more upload bandwidth when streams are more required.

    * Goalbit web tracker. Provides the same capabilities as the Goalbit opentracker adaption, plus web access to real-time statistics and configuration.
